The company shares the initiatives and policies it is promoting to increase female representation, including their participation in technology and leadership roles.
March 8th marks International Women’s Day, a date that invites us to reflect on the search for a more equitable society. In line with its commitment to gender equality, PedidosYa has a female participation of 47.6% in the company and aims to reach 50% . In leadership roles, 38.6% of positions are already occupied by women and work continues to ensure that this percentage continues to increase.
PedidosYa has also been working for several years to reduce the gender gap in the technology sector by implementing programs designed to promote the inclusion and professional development of women in this field , both for the community in general and for the people who work for the company.
In this sense, there are programs such as Mujeres Tech aimed at technology students who are in the final stages of their career and want to develop in the world of technology . The program is in its second edition in Argentina and this year it will be implemented for the first time in Uruguay.
PedidosYa recently launched 20 scholarships in partnership with the Henry technology academy for women who wish to train as Mobile Developers . This is an eight-week training program to learn how to develop in Android that seeks to provide opportunities to those interested in boosting their career in the IT industry.
PedidosYa’s efforts to promote gender equality have received various external recognitions. In 2024, the company ranked No. 3 in the Female Talent ranking awarded by Employers For Youth (EFY) and No. 3 in the Great Place To Work (GPTW) ranking for women .
Women’s month
In March, PedidosYa commemorates Women’s Month in the 15 Latin American countries where it is present, with proposals dedicated to reflecting on the progress and challenges achieved in the organization. Among the scheduled activities are:
- Open talk with Edurne Pasaban about personal improvement, resilience, leadership and teamwork: In this virtual and simultaneous meeting for the region, Edurne will share her experience in challenging environments and her career as a woman in mountaineering.
- LeaderShe: Leadership and career development program for women in senior leadership positions.
- Alliance with Women in Technology: Its objective is to implement new immersive and comprehensive experiences in the tech areas.
- Mentoring for women: The aim is to support women who find themselves in male-dominated environments. 126 female leaders have already participated.
“We are firmly committed to continuing to drive the path towards a diverse and equitable work culture. By 2025, we aim for women to represent 50% of our payroll, with 40% in influence positions, and we are working to exceed this goal. Diversity empowers us, and we will continue working to create an environment where we can all supply from our differences, premises a more inclusive company. We are proud that our efforts are also appreciate in the industry, but we know that this is only the beginning of a longer journey,” PedidosYa reflected.
